INCREASING TAXES on GRANITE STATERS
CACR18 – relating to the tax exempt status of churches. Providing that churches shall not be exempt from state taxes. House Status: Inexpedient To Legislate (Consent Calendar)
This bill was an extremist attack on religion and the First Amendment introduced by a Democrat. This affront to the liberty of Granite Staters sends a clear message: your God is NOT more important than our tax revenue.
HB192 – relative to the rate and exemptions of the interest and dividends tax. House Status: Inexpedient To Legislate (Consent Calendar) This bill was introduced by a leading House Democrat looking to reimpose the
I & D tax that was repealed just recently. House Democrats want nothing more than to spend your hard-earned money, that is why they are so vocal about their support of an income tax on your retirement savings.
HB1486 – relative to proxy carbon pricing in state procurement. House Status: Inexpedient To Legislate (Consent Calendar) For several years now, Republicans have slammed the door on any idea of a carbon tax. As a
result, there is no infrastructure in New Hampshire to implement such an idea. This bill would have been the first step for Democrats plan for an economy destroying carbon tax to take effect in the future. Make no mistake, House
Democrats have proven in the past that they are willing to support such a proposal.
HB1492 – relative to the rate and exemptions of the interest and dividends tax. House Status: Refer for Interim Study (Consent Calendar) This bill would have taxed the retirement savings of Granite State seniors
and anyone else who plans for retirement. We are repeatedly told to save money, an idea which is foreign to Democrats. By proposing this legislation, Democrats would reestablish an income tax on citizens.
DEMOCRATS’ BORDER CRISIS
HB375 – relative to the licensure of nonresident aliens temporarily residing in New Hampshire.
House Status: Laid on Table (DV 185-179) The United States is currently under invasion by thousands of people pouring through our border as a result of this Democrat-created crisis. This legislation was an attempt by House Democrats
to give them legal identification and potentially gain the ability to vote in New Hampshire’s elections. Democrats are continuing to prove that they do not take border security seriously.
HB570 – relative to Real ID compliant New Hampshire driver’s licenses. House Status: Laid on Table (DV 187-180) This disastrous bill would allow anyone who arrives in the United States through a port of entry to
receive a federally compliant Real ID. Due to the Federal Government’s incredibly vague definition of “lawfully present” this would open Pandora’s box to thousands of illegal aliens getting a New Hampshire Driver’s License without
any verification or vetting. The Real ID Act was meant to deliver increased security and vetting in the wake of 9/11, and the Democrats are trying to undermine our elections and our safety by opening the floodgates to illegal aliens
receiving the same identification as legal citizens.
EDUCATION FREEDOM
HB1084 – relative to qualifications for the commissioner of education. House Status: Laid on Table (RC#169 196-179) HB1084 was a blatant attempt by Democrats to remove our current Commissioner of Education from office.
After playing an important role in establishing New Hampshire’s wildly successful Education Freedom Account Program, Democrats decided to weaponize the legislation to pursue their political vendettas.
HB1418 – relative to the use of education freedom account funds to purchase school uniforms.
House Status: Inexpedient to Legislate (Consent Calendar) School uniforms are an essential aspect of a student’s education in some settings. This bill was a part of the Democrats’ death-by-a-thousand-cuts strategy to break the Education
Freedom Account program.
HB1437 – relative to the membership of the state board of education. House Status: Indefinitely Postpone (DV 193-173) Note: Ought to Pass with Amendment (RC#92 176-190) This bill was an attempt to erase any accountability
in education by cherry-picking qualifications
so that only insiders would oversee New Hampshire’s schools. This bill would have been a
rubber stamp to turn a blind eye on and remove any accountability on school districts to deliver on their obligations to students and taxpayers.
HB1512 – limiting education freedom account funding to budgeted amounts. House Status: Indefinitely Postpone (RC#122 187-185) Note: Ought to Pass (RC#121 186-187)
This bill was a desperate attempt by democrats to restrict the education freedom of students
needing a different learning environment. This heartless bill attempts to shut children out of
school choice and condemn them to a one-size-fits all education system that does not fit their
needs. Democrats have directly said that they are willing to kick every single child out of the program the very first chance they get.
HB1592 – relative to the use of education freedom account funds in religious schools. House Status: Laid on Table (RC#176 191-186) The Supreme Court ruled that it is unconstitutional to exclude religious schools
from education freedom. Despite this, Democrats continue their fight to pull the rug out from students who have found a school that best suits their needs. HB1592 would only lead to a taxpayer billed federal court case and groundhog
day at the Supreme Court.
HB1594 – establishing an annual review and qualification to determine eligibility to participate in the education freedom accounts program. House Status: Indefinitely Postpone (RC#123 189-184) The purpose of the
Education Freedom Account program is to encourage parents and students to seek educational opportunities that maximize their child’s potential. Under this bill, a modest $1/hour pay increase could eliminate their child from this
program.
HB1650 – relative to the approval of alternative programs for granting credit leading to graduation. House Status: Indefinitely Postpone (RC#143 192-182) Businesses already have to follow state and federal anti-discrimination
laws. By filing this redundant legislation, Democrats are further proving that they are fundamentally opposed to students getting the best education possible. This bill sought to erroneously put the burden of enforcing anti discrimination
laws on the State Board of Education and waste the time of businesses that are looking to help New Hampshire’s youth.
HB1654 – relative to review of education freedom account service providers. House Status: Indefinitely Postpone (RC#144 191-183) This bill was an attempt to limit Education Freedom Account students from accessing
many service providers. House Democrats are fundamentally opposed to students getting the best education possible and this was yet another attempt to obstruct the education of children under the guise of being concerned over vendors
such as Amazon who furnish Education Freedom program students with resources like textbooks.
SOCIALIST HEALTHCARE
HB319 – establishing a committee to study an all-payer system of insurance for hospital
services. House Status: Inexpedient to Legislate (Consent Calendar) This Democrat sponsored bill would have laid the groundwork for instituting a socialist takeover of New Hampshire’s healthcare system.
HB353 – establishing a committee to study an all-payer system of insurance for hospital
services. House Status: Inexpedient to Legislate (Consent Calendar) This Democrat sponsored bill would have laid the groundwork for instituting a socialist takeover of New Hampshire’s healthcare system.
HR23 – calling upon the New Hampshire congressional delegation to support a national,
universal health insurance program. House Status: Indefinitely Postpone (RC#133 192-179)
House Democrats have decided to throw all of their support behind socialized medicine on the
national scale. This is in spite of the fact that socialized medicine has resulted in lower quality
healthcare when providers start receiving inadequate reimbursements for service. Not to
mention, nationalized healthcare would increase wait times and red tape and government
bureaucrats now decide what healthcare you deserve or not. Even in Canada where socialized
medicine is a reality, people are being steered towards euthanasia, rather than waiting to
receive healthcare. Rather than learning their lessons, Democrats are actively cheering on
bringing these policies to the United States.
ELECTION INTEGRITY
HB350 – relative to ranked-choice voting. House Status: Inexpedient to Legislate (RC#11 248-128) Ranked-choice voting has been a total failure in its implementation in states like Maine. Voting should be an easy
experience, but ranked-choice voting cannot assure that anyone’s vote will count equally towards the results of an election, delays election results, and produces winners who were not the first choice of the voters’ will. In 2020,
Iowa Democrats proved their inability to run elections when they failed to produce a caucus winner for days after the caucus took place. Democrats’ failures to run elections prove that they should not be trusted to enact flawed systems
like ranked-choice voting.
HB1149 – relative to domicile residency, voter registration, investigation of voter verification
letters, and relative to the terms “resident,” “inhabitant,” “residence,” and “residency.” House Status: Indefinitely Postpone (RC#151 190-184) This was a brazen attempt by Democrats to upend New Hampshire’s elections and turn them
into a pinky promise system where people can easily manipulate and cheat the system.
GENDER TRANSITION SURGERY for MINORS
HB368 – relative to protections related to receiving gender-affirming health care or gender-affirming mental health care. House Status: Inexpedient to Legislate (DV 190-185) Note: Ought to Pass (RC#20 186-188) This
bill was a vague attempt to make New Hampshire a mecca for gender transitions, including taxpayer funded surgeries performed on children.
DEMOCRATS VOTE to GIVE THEMSELVES a RAISE
HB1000 – relative to classifying New Hampshire legislators’ service as public service for certain
federal purposes. House Status: Inexpedient to Legislate (RC#62 184-174) This legislation is an egregious attempt by House Democrats to get taxpayers to foot the bill for their OWN student loans. The Public Service Loan Forgiveness
program was designed to encourage young people to pursue careers in public service. To qualify for this program, someone must be working full time for a government entity. HB1000 would force every single taxpayer in America to pay
for the student loans of partisan legislators in spite of the fact that New Hampshire does not even have a full-time legislature. This bill is an affront to every hardworking American who worked to pay off their education.
HB1290 – relative to protection of employment for members of the general court. House Status: Inexpedient to Legislate (Consent Calendar) Serving as a legislator requires the balance of work, family, and legislative
duties. However, Democrats decided that they deserved special treatment above every other Granite Stater and tried to give themselves privileges over others. This is unfair to one’s coworkers and employers who are now legally forced
to work around the legislative schedule. Legislators have balanced this commitment for centuries, but now the Democrats are so desperate for praise and power over others that they are trying to legislate their way to a two-tiered
privilege system in New Hampshire.
HB1363 – relative to allowing members of the general court to participate in the department of health and human services employee assistance program. House Status: Laid on Table (DV 195-186) HB1363 is an attempt
by Democrats to give themselves added taxpayer benefits for their
service in a part-time legislature.
2ND AMENDMENT
HB1037 – relative to repealing limited liability for manufacturers, distributors, dealers, or importers of firearms or ammunition. House Status: Indefinitely Postponed (RC# 196-163) The New Hampshire Supreme Court
has weighed in on the validity of limited liability concerning firearms. The idea of holding a manufacturer or dealer liable for the lawful sale of a firearm based on the criminal behavior of the buyer or other downstream transferee
based on theories of negligence or strict liability is fundamentally unjust and threatens Second Amendment rights.
HB1050 – relative to establishing a voluntary waiver of the right to purchase a firearm. House
Status: Indefinitely Postpone (DV 204-177) Note: Ought to Pass (RC#70 179-200) Note: Inexpedient to Legislate (RC#71 205-175) This Democrat sponsored legislation is a shocking attempt by its supporters to obtain lists of gun owners
and the guns they own. This bill has serious privacy concerns and jeopardizes the 2nd Amendment rights of all Granite Staters.
BURDENSOME REGULATIONS
HB1207 – relative to single-use disposable plastic foodware accessories. House Status: Refer for Interim Study (Consent Calendar) In 2020, restaurants were forced to adapt to an environment where government intrusion
in the private sector caused many industries to go under. As restaurants continue to struggle amidst rampant Democrat caused inflation, this bill seeks to kneecap restaurants even further. Even Democrats on the committee admitted
that this bill would have winners and losers, proving that government intrusion in the food industry is only destroying a cornerstone of the New Hampshire economy.
HB1641 – relating to requiring large parking lots to have a solar power canopy. House Status: Inexpedient to Legislate (Consent Calendar) This Democrat sponsored bill would have the government force businesses to
build and pay for costly solar canopies over their parking lots.
HB1668 – relative to establishing a 4-day work week. House Status: Inexpedient to Legislate (Consent Calendar) This bill would destroy New Hampshire’s economy and force employers to pay salaries for people to do
less work.
HR29 – declaring an economic justice bill of rights. House Status: Inexpedient to Legislate (Voice Vote) Massachusetts’ right to shelter law has caused utter bedlam as illegal aliens now sleep on the floors of Logan
Airport and overwhelm community resources. This attempt from a known socialist in the House attempts to bring that same policy to New Hampshire, which is already struggling to house people who are willing to pay for their own goods
and services. While socialists beam at the ideas of this bill, it would send New Hampshire into utter chaos.
RENT CONTROL
HB1362 – relative to authorizing municipalities to stabilize rent increases in rental housing. House Status: Inexpedient to Legislate (Consent Calendar) This bill would have established rent control in New Hampshire.
Much like any other time that socialist policies are adopted, this would have exacerbated the housing crisis in New Hampshire. The caps in rent would have given landlords less resources to keep up with maintenance and stifled the
free market, causing fewer and fewer people to want to bother to put their properties up for rent.
