Father’s Day is a holiday honoring the father or father figure of an individual or family as well as fatherhood, paternal bonds, and fathers’ societal influence. For centuries, Father’s Day has been celebrated around the world on different dates with each region or country having their own traditions.
HISTORY
1910: In the USA, Sonora Smart Dodd founded Father’s Day in the state of Washington. Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. Families often gather to celebrate the father in their lives with gifts and activities that the whole family, and especially the father enjoys.
